Barbados, Government of Barbados, Specimen $2 banknote, dated 1 January 1949, black serial number AH 391001 lower left and AN 700000 top right, obverse: green and brown, King George VI at right within oval frame, vignette of Neptune riding the waves in a seahorse chariot in round frame at left, GOVERNMENT OF BARBADOS at top, TWO DOLLARS and THESE NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT below, two signatures by the Commissioners of Currency, black number “12,345” in top border, black hand inked annotation “970112 3/4/50” at centre, perforated “SPECIMEN” lower centre, reverse: colourful geometric patterns, watermark of two horse heads, printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Ltd of England, 150mm x 84mm (Pick, “Standard Catalog of World Paper Money”, 3cs).
