Charles I (1625-49), Halfcrown, 1644, Oxford Mint, smaller King on horseback left with upright sword, grassy ground below, Oxford plume above, initial mark Oxford plume slightly mistruck resembles a Shrewsbury plume, rev Declaration in two lines, three Oxford plumes, central one largest with lozenge stops above, date and OX below with lozenge stops, initial mark five lozenges to left of legend, 14.45g (Bull 615/8; Brooker 909/910; N.2418; S.2965).
Struck on a broad flan, small flan flaw on edge, very well struck for the issue though weak in some parts, darkly toned a bold very fine and rare.
