Edward III (1327-77), Noble, Fourth Coinage (1351-77), Treaty Period (1361-9), Calais Mint, King standing in ship holding sword and shield, flag near stern of ship, four whole lis in upper left quarter, ship rigging with three ropes to left that end at flag pole, and two to right, ornaments on top line of hull -11-11 with lions right, quatrefoils 4/3 on castles, no lower part to bowsprit, saltire stops both sides, no French title, unbarred A’s in legends, quatrefoil before legend, +ED WARDxx DEIxx GRAxx REXxx AnGLxx DnSxx hyB xZx AQ T with Aquitaine title, rev large C in central compartment with trefoils on angles, upon ornate cross with lis terminals, crown over lion in each angle, all within beaded and linear tressure of eight arcs, fleurs in spandrels, initial mark cross pattee, +IhCxxAVTEMxx TRAnSIEnSxx PERxx MEDIVxx ILLORVMxx IBAT outer beaded border both sides, 7.15g (Schneider 102; cf.Doubleday 268-9; N.1236; S.1504).
