Henry I, pellets in quatrefoil type Penny (c.1123), Esgar of Gloucester Mint, crowned facing bust with arm and sceptre, star to right, beaded inner and outer circles both sides, +h[e]nricvs r[ex], rev. star at centre of voided quatrefoil, pellets in limbs, trefoil terminals, lis in each angle, +esgar: on: g[lop]ece, 1.26g. (SCBI 19:140; N.870; S.1275).
Light central surface crack, weak in parts, toned, about very fine and rare, with collector’s ticket purporting that the only known other completer example is in the Gloucester Museum, plus a cut halfpenny
