James I (1603-25), third coinage (1619-25), Laurel, fourth laureate and draped bust left, small straight ties to laurel wreath, value in field behind, beaded circle surrounding, initial mark trefoil (1624), IACOBVS D: G: MA: BRI: FRAN: ET HIB: REX. outer beaded circle surrounding both sides, rev crowned quartered shield of arms, upon long cross fourchée, beaded circle surrounding, no reverse punctuation, FACIAM EOS IN GENTEM VNAM, initial mark at end of legend, 8.97g (cf.Schneider 86; N.2114; S.2638B).
Metal flaw behind head in field, weak in parts of legend, almost very fine.
A fuller obverse legend than previous example BH044, the Schneider example is even more fuller with the G in MAG present.
