Great Britain, Norfolk, Norwich, Joseph Hardingham, Kempson's Silver Proof Halfpenny Trade Token, dated 1797, obverse: view of Norwich Cathedral (an English cathedral dedicated to the Holy and Undivided Trinity; the large cloister has over 1000 bosses including several hundred carved and ornately painted ones; the cathedral spire measures 315ft or 96m and is the second tallest in England) showing main spire and hugh stained glass window, NORWICH CATHEDRAL above, date below, reverse: bust of Frederick Handel left (German-born British Baroque composer famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems and organ concertos; he settled in London (1712) as a naturalized British subject in 1727; having lived in England for almost fifty years, he died in 1759, a respected and rich man; his funeral was given full state honours, and he was buried in Westminster Abbey), GEORGE FREDERICK HANDEL around, edge plain, diam. 28mm (Dalton & Hamer 34a).

About uncirculated an attractively toned but with light streaks across the bust on the reverse (not scratches) and tiny nich at 12 o’clock on the obverse, extremely rare.
