Silver Denarius, military mint travelling with Caesar (late spring to early summer 48 BC).

Obverse: Diademed and wreathed female head (Clementia?) facing right, LII.
Reverse: Military trophy of Gallic arms; axe surmounted by animal’s head to right, shield to left, CAE-SAR.

Deep and attractive cabinet tone. Extremely fine. Crawford 452/2; Sydenham 1009; CRI 11.
