A Battle of Messines Casualty Military Medal, GVR, awarded to Gunner later Bombardier, Thomas Horne, 65 Battery Royal Field Artillery, (84904 Gnr: T. Horne. 65/By. R.F.A.), lightly toned very fine.

Military Medal London Gazette 21st of August 1917

Thomas Horne arrived in France on the 26th of June 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of the 21st of August 1917, The Great War Medal Collectors Companion Vol 1 page 407 by Howard Williamson refers: “Awards mostly for June 1917 and including awards for Messines.” Thomas was Discharged from the Army, Disabled, on the 18th of October 1918, he was awarded a Silver War Badge. He is also entitled to a 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals
