An India General Service Medal 1908-35, GVR, 2nd type one clasp, Waziristan 1921-24 and Indian Army Meritorious Service Medal, GVR, awarded to Jemadar Muhammad Ali Khan, 16th Light Cavalry, late 34th Poona Horse, IGSM, (3900 Jem. Mohd. Ali Khan, 16 Lt. Cav), Indian MSM, (3262 Muhd. Ali Khan, 34/Horse), very fine.
Jemadar Muhammad Ali Khan was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with the 34th Poona Horse for service in Egypt/Palestine during the Great War. The unit earned 43 MSMs in WWI of which 25 were for this theatre. He had previously served in France & Belgium prior to joining the Egyptian Expeditionary Force.
