James I (1603-25), Shilling, second coinage (1604-19), mintmark coronet both sides (1607-9), fi fth bust crowned right within beaded linear circle, mark of value behind. Legend reads IACOBVS D: G: MAG: BRI: FRA: ET HIB: REX. Rev, quartered shield of arms, legend commences QVÆ DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPARET, 5.91g (S.2656; N.2101). Very fine for issue, slightly short of flan, with a definitive portrait, a rare mintmark for this type.
