Great Britain, Middlesex (London), Robert Orchard (died 1833; was a grocer, tea dealer and entrepreneur, he worked from 34 Greek Street, Soho, London and was resident of Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire, and was the son of a brewing family), Copper Halfpenny Trade Token, dated 1798, obverse: detailed view of a church with shield of arms above, ISLINGTON . OLD . CHURCH . ROBERT . ORCHARD. around, reverse: R O cypher, HALFPENNY above, date below, edge COVENTRY TOKEN, diam. 30mm (Dalton & Hamer “The Provincial Token Coinage of the 18th Century” 403).

Good extremely fine and attractively toned, the planchet cracked in two places from striking, small spot on the reverse, rare.
