Description
George IV (1820-1830), Farthing, 1825, obverse 1, raised leaf mid ribs, first issue, laureate and draped bust facing left, drapery on shoulder with a circular brooch, legend reads GEORGIUS IIII DEI GRATIA. Rev, Britannia seated right in long flowing robes with plumed helmet, her raised left hand grasping a trident, right hand clasping a spray of olive leaves, at her feet a crouching lion. On the exergue line a single row of waves and date below, legend surrounds BRITANNIAR : REX FID : DEF : (BMC 1415A; S 3822).
Uncirculated with nearly full mint lustre, boldly struck, a pleasing example.
