A Passchendaele casualty 1914-15 Star awarded to Driver F.J. Binyon, “O” Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, and (102930 Dvr. F.J. Binyon. R.H.A.), lightly toned very fine
Driver Frederick John Binyon attested for the 20th Battalion the Middlesex Regiment on the 31st May 1915 but transferred to the Royal Horse Artillery on the 30th June 1915; he was posted to France to join “O” Battery RHA and landed on the 20th October 1915. He was wounded in action on the 2nd August 1917, Gun Shot Wounds, Shell, Elbow, L hand and neck. This wound needed treatment for several months but Driver Binyon seems to have remained in hospital in France. He was discharged from the army in May 1919 having spent 3 years and 198 days with the Expeditionary Force in France.
