A 1916 1914-15 Star Casualty Trio awarded to Pte John Houghton, “D” Company, 1st Battalion The King’s (Liverpool Regiment) comprising 1914-15 Star, (28268 Pte J. Houghton L’Pool R.); 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (28268 Pte. J. Houghton. L’Pool R.) lightly toned very fine.

Private John Houghton was born at St John’s Pemberton in 1891 he enlisted into the 1st Battalion The king’s (Liverpool Regiment) at Wigan Lancashire and landed in France on the 31st May 1915. John Died of Wounds on the 4th June 1916 and is buried at Le Treport Military Cemetery, he was 25 years old and the son pf Peter and Esther Houghton of Pemberton, Wigan.
