Description
A Canadian Forces 1914-15 Star awarded to Private, Lance Corporal, later 2nd Lieutenant, Geoffrey Charles Walter Broad 15th Canadian Infantry and 2nd Battalion Royal Highlanders comprising 1914-15 Star, (77680 Pte G.C.W. Broad. 15/Can: Inf:), very fine.
Geoffrey Charles Walter Broad was born in Wandsworth, London on the 21st of October 1889. He had previously served for 4 years in the 28th County of London Regiment, and for 8 months in the Grand Forks Militia. He enlisted into the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force on the 5th of November 1914 stating that he was a Rancher. He landed in France on the 16th of May 1915 joining the 15th Canadian Infantry. He was Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on the 26th of September 1915 and posted to the 2nd Battalion Royal Highlanders.
