A Dunkirk Evacuation, Mersa Matruh OBE, Burma MiD Territorial Decoration group of 7 awarded to Honorary Colonel Alexis Oswald Bekenn Royal Army Medical Corps comprising OBE Mily (2nd Type), 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, 1939-45 Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal with Mention in Despatches Emblem, Territorial Decoration (1945), unnamed as issued, contemporarily mounted for wear, very fine.

Lt Col Bekenn has carried out the duties of Senior Medical Officer Mersa Matruh in addition to command of the Field Ambulance. He has shown energy and devotion to duty to a commendable degree. I attribute the very satisfactory state of the health of the garrison in no small measure to his efforts.

Sold with 2 Original Commission Documents, Original MiD Certificate in envelope addressed to Colonel A.O. Bekenn O.B.E., Original MiD Award notification card, original letter dated 1959 stating that the Citation for hid OBE was till Secret but stating it was a Field Ambulance at Mersa Matruh. And that hid MiD was for Burma.13 Original photograph, one on the Ship Returning from the Dunkirk Evacuation, one in the Desert at a Field Ambulance one with vehicles and several of a Medal Parade where he is being presented with the Efficiency Decoration.
