A Great War and North West Frontier Pair awarded to Private James Wilfred Whithear, 1/4th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment comprising 1914-1920 British War Medal, (204315 Pte. J.W. Whithear. R.W. Kent R.), India General Service Medal, 1908-35, one clasp Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919, (204315 Pte. J.W. Whithear. R. W. Kent. R), lightly toned very fine.

James Wilfred Whithear was born on the 4th of January 1887 in 1913 he married Ellen Hilton stating that he was a 26 year old Provision Hand, He joins the 1/4th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment Territorial Force and is posted to India serving with the 1/4th Battalion. He was discharged from the Army on the 31st of March 1920. The Medal Index Card confirms that this pair is his full entitlement. In 19393 he is a Grocery and Provisions Manager. James Died in September 1960 aged 73.
