2nd Lieutenant Frederick Arthur Upperton South Wales Borderers attached 4/5th Battalion The Welsh Regiment. Medal Index Card states First Theatre of entry, number 3, the Middle East, 28th November 1917. He was admitted to hospital with Sand-fly Fever 12th July 1918.
Frederick relinquished his Commission in the South Wales Borderers on the 1st September 1921, retaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and was posted to the 5th Welsh Regiment Territorial Army Reserve of Officers.
In later life, he was the Director and Secretary of Firestone (UK) Ltd. Tyre & Rubber Company. He died on the 18th January 1971 leaving £33,832 in his will.
