Description
A Great War Silver War Badge awarded to 2347 Private W. Chatham 10th Battalion the Manchester Regiment Silver War Badge number (45209), very fine.
Private Chatham enlisted on the 23rd September 1914. He landed in Gallipoli at Cape Helles, the 10th Battalion took part in the attack at Krithia. By August 1915 had lost 2/3rds of its men , the Commanding Officer was killed in action in October, the Battalion left the peninsula on the 28th December 1915. Private Chatham was discharged Sick on the 10th January 1917.
