A Kimberley Defenders Cape Of Good Hope General Service Medal, one clasp, Bechuanaland, awarded to Sergeant S.A. Bristow, Kimberley Rifles late Kimberley Town Guard, (Serg. S.A. Bristow. Kimby Rifs), very fine.

As Private Bristow he was also awarded the Queen’s South Africa Medal with the clasp, Defence of Kimberley, where he served in No 2 Supply Depot Kimberley Town Guard.

An interesting medal to a confirmed Defender of Kimberly, SA Bristow was born about 1860 in Missenden, Buckinghamshire, his trade was Miner.
