A Medical Staff Corps Egypt Medal awarded to Private later Corporal John Edwards comprising Egypt Medal, 1882-89, undated reverse, one clasp, Suakin 1885, (6084. Pte. J. Edwards. M. S. Corps.), very fine
John Edwards joined the Army Hospital Corps at Aldershot on the 5th of August 1884, stating that he was an 18 year old Labourer from Buckinghamshire. He joined for a period of 12 Years with the Colours, serving in the Sudan form the 25th of February 1885 to the 7th of July 1885, he was however Discharged on the 20th of February 1891 Medically Unfit for Further Military Service
