Description

A Salonika Theatre Great War Casualty Group of 4 awarded to Corporal Albert George Victor Allen, 7th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment who was Killed in Action on the 19th of October 1916 comprising, 1914-15 Star, (14546 L. Cpl A. G. V. Allen, R. Berks: R.), 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (14546 Cpl. A.G.V. Allen. R. Berks. R.), Memorial Plaque (Albert George Victor Allen), lightly toned otherwise as issued.

Corporal Albert George Victor Allen landed in France on the 19th of September 1915, he moved with his Battalion to the Balkan Theatre and was Killed in Action in Salonika on the 19th of October 1916he was the son of the late Willaim and Mercy Allen, a Native of Newbury Berkshire he was 31 years old. Corporal Allen in buried in Sarigol Military Cemetery, Kriston, the town of Sarigol is a village some 40 kilometres north of the town of Thessalonika, in the direction of Lake Doiran or Kilkis town of Kriston.
