A Sudan Pair awarded to Private George James Johnson, Royal Army Medical Corps, comprising Queen’s Sudan Medal 1896-97, (10367 Pte. G. J. Johnson. R.A.M.C.), Khedive’s Sudan Medal, 1896-1908, no clasp, (10367 Pte G. Johnson R.A.M.C.), edge bump Khedives Sudan otherwise toned fine.

George James Johnson was born in Birmingham, in the County of Warwick, he stated that he was currently serving in the Militia Medical Staff Corps and attested on the 29th of Aprils 1894 for a short service engagement with the Regular Medical Staff Corps later the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served Home from the 29th of April 1894 until the 12th of July 1898, Egypt from the 13th of July 1898 to the 26th of October 1902, Home from the 27th of October until the 17th of December 1902 when he transferred to the Army Reserve, he was released from the Reserve on the 26th of April 1906, the last 3 years 130 days served on the Reserve not counting towards pension. His papers confirm the Queens Sudan Medal and Khedives Sudan Medal, Medal Roll also confirms.
