Comes with a provenance ticket, bought from Seaby in 1971. Both Harun al-Rashid and his vizier Ja’far feature prominently in the famous collection of folk tales known in Arabic as ‘Alf Laylah wa Laylah (One Thousand and One Nights) or in English as the Arabian Nights.
