Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, Last small cross type (c.1009-1017), London mint, moneyer Osulf, diademed and draped bust left within inner linear circle, legend surrounds +ÆÐELRÆD REX ΛNGL. Rev, cross pattée all within inner linear circle, reads +OSVLF MON LVNDE, 19mm, 1.23g (S.1154; N.777; BMC I; SCBI 36 [Berlin coin cabinet], 552).

Cabinet toning, struck on an undulating flan, peckmarks, mainly on the reverse, portrait well detailed, legends legible, slightly blocky in places. Comprehensive very fine, lesser seen moneyer for type.
