P. Lockwood-Wingate. R. Lincolns.) very fine.
Peter Joseph Lockwood-Wingate was given a Regular Army Emergency Commission from O.C.T.U. as a 2nd Lieutenant on the 10th of May 1941 into the Leicestershire Regiment, on the 2nd of August 1941 he was transferred, retaining rank and seniority to the Rifle Brigade. His name appears in Casualty List 978 as 2nd Lieutenant P.J. Lockwood-Wingate, 7th Battalion Rifle Brigade, Wounded – Western Desert 11th of November 1942.
2nd Lieutenant (War Substantive Lieutenant) Peter Joseph Lockwood-Wingate from Emergency Commission to be Lieutenant 1st of May 1947, with seniority 26th December 1943 and is granted the Acting rank of Captain 1st of May 1947.
