J.O. Wilson. R.A.), Efficiency Medal, Territorial Suspension with second award bar (Lt. J.O. Wilson. R.A.), lightly toned very fine.
2575979 Jack Owen Wilson was Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery being given an Emergency Commission from the Royal Corps of Signals in the London Gazette of the 23rd November 1943; his Officers “P” number was 296607. He was promoted to Lieutenant from Emergency Commission on the 8th January 1952 with seniority of the 29th August 1947. The General Service Medal Roll for the clasp Palestine 1945-48 shows Lieutenant Wilson as HQ British Troops Palestine 27th September 1945 to 31st December 1945 and in Area of operations from 2nd May 1945 to 31st March 1948, he claimed his medal in 1954.
He next appears in the London gazette of the 11th July 1952 as Territorial Army Reserve of Officers to be Captain from the 1st May 1952. He was awarded the clasp to his Efficiency Medal on the 17th October 1952, London Gazette of the same date refers. He Retired with the rank of Captain on the 31st May 1945. Worthy of research for his World War Two Service.
