Description

Anne (1702-14), Shilling, 1707, post union, third draped bust left, toothed borders both sides legend surrounding, ANNA DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform post-union shields, angles plain, eight strings to Irish harp, garter star at centre, date flanking top crown legend surrounding, MAG BRI FR ET HIB REG (S.3610; Bull. 1395; ESC. 1141).

Attractive pewter grey toning with a hint of iridescence both sides, queens hair well struck up, some flecking on the obverse around neck. Reverse, strong with minimal surface markings, some flecking, a little flatness on the bottom shield in the lower lion. A pleasing example, much eye appeal, near extremely fine.
