Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, EVIIR, awarded to 2nd Class Master Gunner George James Price, Royal Garrison Artillery, (40842 2nd Cl. Mstr: Gnr: G.J. Price. R.G.A.), very fine

George James Price joined the Army aged 15 years and 8 months on the 18th of January 18 on a Long service Attestation, he was a native of Gosport, Hants and stated that he was a member of the 4th battalion Prince Alberts Somerset Light Infantry but was now attesting for The Royal Artillery. He Served Home 18th of January 1884 to the 31st of May 1898, Malta 4th of May 1898 to the 2nd of December 1898, Home 3rd December 1898 to the 31st of July 1901, Halifax Nova Scotia from the 1st of August 1901 to the 24th of November 1904, Hong Kong from the 15th of November 1904 to the 29th of January 1906 and Home from the 30th of January 1906 to the 7th of November 1911, buying his release after 27 years with the Colours. He was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in Army Orders of April 1906, his only Medal. He Died, aged 72 on the 23rd of October 1941
