Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, QVR, 1837-55, Large Letter Reverse awarded to Serjeant Later Colour Serjeant Thomas Flinter 83rd Regiment (County of Dublin), (Thomas Flinter, Serjt. 83rd Regiment 1844) impressed naming steel clip replacement modern ring, toned edge bruises fine.

Thomas Flinter joined the 83rd Regiment at Dublin on the 18th of February 1813 aged 15 years. He was promoted to Private on the 17th of February 1816, on attaining 18 years of age, he was promoted Corporal 18th of December 1817 and Serjeant on the 25th of March 1823. He served in the East Indies for 11 years 5 months. As Colour Serjeant he was Acting Serjeant major at the 83rds Depot in Dublin for the last 9 years of his Service. He was Invalided on the 13th of September 1844 after serving 31 Years 58 Days with the Colours. He was Discharged as a Chelsea Out Pensioner
