A Great War Royal Naval Reserve Mine Sweeper Pair awarded to Seaman Robert Dickson Davidson, comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (579L R.D. Davidson. Smn. R.N.R.), toned very fine.

Robert Dickson Davidson was born on the 30th of October 1875 stating that he lived in Lerwick. He joined the Royal Naval Reserve on the 11th of January 1915 joining HMS Vivid on the 4th of July 1916. He served aboard Sandhurst, Osiris, Vaillant and Gazelle, mostly Minesweepers. He was discharged on the 22nd of May 1922 declining to re-enlist. His papers confirm that he was awarded the British War and Victory Medals and was not entitled to the 1914-15 Star.
