Description

Bruttium, the Brettii (c. 216-214 BC) Silver Drachm, time of Hannibal, 4.83g. Obverse: Diademed, draped and winged bust of Nike right, anchor behind. Reverse: ΒΡΕΤΤΙΩΝ, youthful river god standing facing, crowning himself with a wreath and holding a sceptre, snake to right. (BMC 25; Scheu 37). Nearly Extremely Fine. Attractive cabinet toning.
