Description

Carausius (AD 286-293).

Silver Denarius, ‘RSR’, uncertain mint in Britain.

Obverse: IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius right.
Reverse: VI-RTVS AVG, radiate lion left, with a thunderbolt in its jaws, RSR in exergue.

(RIC 591; Shiel 92).

Good Very Fine. Large die flaw across obverse. Extremely Rare, the only example present on the open market.
