(1633-1634), Tower Mint under Charles I, Group D, Fourth bust, bust 7, smaller head left, with mark of
value behind all within inner beaded border, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MAG BR FR ET HI REX.
Rev, oval crowned quartered coat of arms, crowned C and R flanking, reads CVLTORES SVI DEVS
PROTEGIT, 4.46 g. (S.2703, N.2168, Schn 197, Fr. 247).
Even lustrous gold toning, consistently well
detailed in the both the Kings bust and profile, legends legible both sides. Rev, coat of arms showing
precision, free from any surface or contact marks, a complete example. Extremely fine, much rarer than
the catalogues suggest.
