Description
Charles I (1625-49), Ireland, The Great Rebellion, Coinages of the Lord Justices, ‘Ormonde Money’ (1643-4), Groat, C & R crowned within inner circle. Rev, IIII mark of value, D above, 1.85g (S.6548. D&F 303).
On a full flan, some weakness in strike to the left on obverse, corresponding on reverse, otherwise near very fine for issue, rare. An interesting smaller denomination making up part of the tapestry of the Irish siege coin series.
