Charles I, Groat, Bridgenorth-on-Severn mint, 1646, crowned bust left, initial mark plumelet, value behind. Latin legend surrounds CAROLVS. D: G: MAG: BR: FR: ET. HIB: REX. Rev, Declaration in three lines REL: PRO: / LEG: ANG: / LIB: PAR, scroll with three plumes above, line with date below, pellet on reverse, outer legend reads EXVRGAT: DEVS. DISSIPENIVR: INIMICI (Brooker 1133; N 2525; S 3042). Nicely toned, a little short of flan with small spot to the left of King, otherwise excellent detail in Kings portrait, with clear fields. Reverse, fully struck up for issue. Good very fine, scarce.
