Charles I (1625‑49), Civil War, Carlisle besieged, 1644‑45, octagonal Three Shillings, cr, a rosette either side, large crown above, .iii.s
below, all within inner circle around which a circle of pellets, rev. three line inscription, rosette above obs with large indeterminate
stamp below, wt. 12.91g. (S.3137; N.2633; Brooker 1218). Much weakness but in the strike, about fine the denomination clear.
