Description
Charles II (1660-85), Halfcrown, 1682, fourth laureate and draped bust right. Rev, crowned cruciform emblematic shields, interlinked Cs in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of English shield, six strings to harp edge inscribed in raised letters and dated TRICESIMO QVARTO (ESC 489, R2; S 3367).
Attractive old tone, haymarking both sides, some graffiti to right of bust, slight verdigris on reverse, otherwise bold very fine, very rare and with an excellent provenance.
