Charles II (1660-1685) Unite of twenty shillings, first hammered issue, struck between 1660-1662, without mark of value. Tower mint, initial mark crown on obverse only. Laureate and draped bust facing left, legend reads CAROLVS II D G MAG BRIT FRAN ET HIB REX. Rev, crowned quartered coat-of-arms, C R flanking either side, legend reads · FLORENT · CONCORDIA · REGNA ·(N.2753; S.3301).
About extremely fine for issue, rare, some weakness in the strike, otherwise a superb example.
