Description
China War Medal 1900, one clasp, Relief of Pekin, awarded to Gunner John Bubb, Royal Marine Artillery, H.M.S. Centurion, (J. Bubb. Gunr. R.M.A., H.M.S. Centurion.), lightly toned very fine.
John Bubb was born on the 25th of August 1872, he enlisted for the Royal Marine Artillery on the 25th of February 1893. He served on H.M.S Centurion being awarded the China 1900 Medal with clasp, Relief of Pekin. He was discharged from the R.M. Arty on the 24th of February 1914. He reenlisted on the 2nd of August 1914. Served Ostend 27th to31st of August 1914, served at Dunkirk7th to 12th October 1914, posted to 3rd Battalion RMA 1st of November 1916 to the 6th of July 1917, Discharged as Invalid from Royal Navy Haslar 11th of July 17. With Silver War Badge Number RN9055, He died at 7pm on the 5th of August 1923 at Home, 11, Queen’s Gate, Inverness from an Aneurism of Aorta and Angina Pectoris. He is also entitled to the 1914 Star and British War and Victory Medals.
