Canute (1016-35), Penny, Helmet type (c.1024-1030), Lincoln mint, moneyer Wulfwine, pointed helmet bust left, sceptre in front, legend surrounding, +CNVT REX Λ. Rev, short voided cross with pellet and annulet centre, pellet in annulet in each angle, all within linear circle, reads +PVLFWINE ON LINC, 0.92g (S.1158; N.787; BMC XIV; SCBI 14 [Copenhagen], Part IIIb, 1935-42).

Struck on a wavy flan, handsome dark toning with a pleasingly detailed portrait, free of any peckmarks, legends clear. Rev, legends legible some distortion to the central pellet and annulet. Very fine, obverse better.
