D. Iunius Brutus Albinus.

Silver Denarius, mint of Rome, 48 BC.

Obverse: PIETAS, head of Pietas right.
Reverse: ALBINVS BRVTI• F, two hands clasped around winged caduceus.

This delightful silver denarius was issued by one of the three assassins of Julius Caesar to strike coins. Albinus Brutus was one of two Bruttii involved in the murder of the dictator – the second being Marcus Junius Brutus.
