Edward IV (1471-1483), Second reign, Groat, London mint, type XVII, crowned facing bust, trefoils on cups and breast, mintmark pierced cross (c.1477-80), legend surrounds EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC. Rev, long cross fourchée, trefoil of pellets in angles, reads POSVI DEVM A DIVTORE MEVM, inner script CIVITAS LONDON, 2.74g (S.2096; N.1631; B&W XVII).
Even cabinet toning, flan marginally ragged in the south eastern vicinity. Nearly very fine, a sound portrait with the King’s hair beginning to show striations.
