Edward IV (First Reign, 1461‐1470), Gold Ryal or rose‐noble, Light Coinage, Tower (London) mint, mm. long cross fitchee (1469‐70).Edward crowned, facing, on ship, holding sword and shield, rose on hull, banner with E at stern, Rev. Trefoil stops, sixteen rayed sun, rose at centre, ornamental cross terminals ending in lis, crown over lion in each angle, within beaded and linear tressures of eight arcs, trefoils in spandrels, 7.66g/7h.
