Edward IV, first reign (1461-1470), light coinage, Ryal, Norwich, type VI, king standing in ship, rose on ship’s side, banner inscribed E at stern, N in waves, reads FRNC for FRANC, followed by quatrefoil, rev. rose upon a radiate sun in centre of floriated cross, large lis in spandrels, trefoil stops, m.m. sun on reverse only, wt. 7.6g, (N1552; S1956). Extremely fine and in a far better state of preservation than normally found for this extremely rare type.
