Description

Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), Penny, Pointed Helmet type. Lincoln mint, Colgrim moneyer. Struck 1053-1056, bust facing right, wearing pointed helmet and holding cross-tipped sceptre, legend surrounds + EDPARD. Rev, voided short cross, with pellet-in-annulet at centre, each limb terminating in three crescents, legend surrounds +COLGRIM ON LIN, 1.25g (N. 825; BMC. XII; S.1179).
