Edward VI (1547-51), coinage in the name of Henry VIII, Groat, Tower mint, bust 5, no mintmark, facing crowned bust, legend surrounds HENRIC 8 D GRA AGL FRA Z HIB REX, pellet stops. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, legend reads POSVI DEV A DIVTOR E MEV, incurved pierced cross stop before legend, 2.36g (S.2403; N.1871). Lightly toned, a softly struck portrait but balanced in its detail, legends legible both sides, uncharacteristically clear fields, no marks or scrapes. Bold fine to near very fine. £350
