Edward VI (1547-53), fine silver Sixpence, third period (1551-53), facing crowned bust, rose to left mark of value to right, initial mark Tun, linear and beaded circles, legend surrounds EDWΛRD VI DG ΛGL FRΛ Z HIBREX. Rev, long cross fourchee over flat topped quartered shield of arms, POSVI DEV Λ DIVTORE MEV surrounds, 3.04g (S.2483; N.1938). Deeply toned with a portrait of the highest quality, small flaw above eye, some die breaks in the reverse fields. An exceptional specimen, one of the finest available for commerce hailing from an illustrious pedigree. Extremely fine, rare so well preserved.
