Egypt Medal, 1882- 89, un-dated reverse, one clasp, Suakin 1885, awarded to Private William Watts, Medical Staff Corps, (5848 Pte. W. Watts. M.S. Corps.), light pitting from star “Corps” rubbed by Star otherwise fine
William Watts an 18-year-old Finisher from Higham Feres, Northamptonshire, joined the Army Hospital Corps on the 22nd of March 1884. He served Home 22nd of March 1884 to the 10th of February 1885, Sudan, 17th of February 1885 to the 24th of September 1889, Home 25th of September 1889 to the 17th of March 1890, India (Trooping) 25th of September 1889 to the 17th of March 1890, Home 18th of March 1890 to the 25th of August 1890, India (Trooping) 26th of August 1890 to the 7th of April 1891, Home 8th of April 1891 to the 21st of March 1896, South Africa 21st of April 1896, Transferred to the Army Reserve this day and then served on the Reserve from the 25th of April 1896, being Discharged after 15 years 249 days service on the 30th of April 1901.
