Edwin Tidbury joined the Royal Flying Corps on the 1st of May 1916. His Civilian Trade was Motor Driver he served with 49 Base Section RFC until he was posted on the 4th of February 1919 to 111 (Fighter) Squadron and nicknamed Treble One, the Squadron had been formed in 1917 in the Middle East as No. 111 Squadron of the Royal Flying Corps during the reorganisation of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force. The Squadron remained in the Middle East after the end of the First World War until 1920. Edwin was posted to 142 Squadron on the 11th of June 1919. 142 Squadron was operating in Palestine. After operations in Palestine the Squadron retired to RAF Suez where it disbanded on 1 February 1920. Edwin returned to England presumably on the Disbandment of the Squadron and was Discharged on the 30th of April 1920.
